How often should you clean an ice machine?
Most ice machines should be cleaned every 3 to 6 months, depending on usage and water quality. Machines in hard-water areas may require more frequent cleaning to prevent mineral buildup and maintain ice quality.
Does your cleaner affect ice taste?
When used as directed and properly rinsed, our cleaner should not affect ice taste. Cleaning actually helps improve ice clarity and flavor by removing mineral deposits and residue that can cause off-tastes.
Is this cleaner safe for all ice machines?
Pristine is nickel-safe and compatible with most standalone ice makers. Our cleaners are compatible with most manufacturer’s including Scotsman, Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, KitchenAid, GE, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, Breville, NewAir, Fohere.
Can you use vinegar instead of cleaner?
Vinegar is not recommended for most ice machines. It may not effectively remove heavy mineral scale and can damage sensitive components. A purpose-made cleaner and descaler is safer and more effective.
